On July 8, 2016, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was northbound on Highway 63, Phelps Township, when a vehicle pulled out from a private driveway, directly in front of the cruiser.

Impaired charge

On July 8, 2016, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was northbound on Highway 63, Phelps Township, when a vehicle pulled out from a private driveway, directly in front of the cruiser.  The officer had to make an evasive maneuver in order to avoid a collision with the vehicle.

The vehicle was stopped and, upon further investigation, the driver, Patricia Ball, age 69, of Redbridge, Ontario, was arrested and charged with Driving with More than 80 Mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on July 19, 2016.
