On August 20, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members from the Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Highway 17, in the town of Nairn Centre.

Male charged with driving under suspension

NAIRN CENTRE - On August 20, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members from the Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Highway 17, in the town of Nairn Centre.

As a result of the investigation, it was found that the male driver was under suspension.

Chad Valiquette, 42 years of age, from North Bay, was charged with the following:

  1. Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

  2. Permit use of altered validation, contrary to section 12(1)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act

  3. Operate motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury, on September 19, 2016.
