On October 4, 2017, officers at the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a historical domestic incident that took place in East Ferris Township in March 2017.

Domestic incident

EAST FERRIS TOWNSHIP - On Oct. 4, 2017, officers at the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a historical domestic incident that took place in East Ferris Township in March 2017. 

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old male from East Ferris Township has been arrested and charged with:

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC) X 2;
  • Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the CC;
  • Pointing a Firearm, contrary to section 87 of the CC and;
  • Uttering Threats, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC. 

  The accused is being held for bail on Oct. 5, 2017, at the Ontario Court of Justice North Bay.
