North Bay OPP continue to investigate the circumstances regarding a three-vehicle collision that occurred on the North Bay bypass at Trout Lake Road Wednesday Oct. 29, 2003 that sent Constable Robert Draper and another driver to hospital.

Constable Draper and the other driver were treated and released from North Bay General Hospital.
An OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator from the North East Region Traffic and Marine Unit was called in to assist in this investigation.

A vehicle with stolen license plates was recovered by Mattawa OPP on Highway 17 and McMartin Road, Papineau-Cameron Township just east of Mattawa at approximately 10:44 a.m. on Wednesday October 29th, 2003.

Police recovered a 1990 Plymouth Acclaim with an Ontario license stolen from the Ottawa area.
Police arrested two males and 2 females from Quebec. Police investigated the matter further and charged three persons with various offences from that vehicle.

The following two are charged and awaiting a bail hearing this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Ontario Court Of Justice at 360 Plouffe St., North Bay, Ontario:
Vincent Herbert of Trois-Rivieres Quest, Que., 19, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC), possession of break-in instruments, section 351(1) CCC, breach of probation, section 733.1(1) CCC and use plate not authorized for vehicle, section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) of Ontario.

Simon Gilbert Gervais, 21, of Cap De La Madelaine, Que., is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, section 354(1)(a) CCC.

A 17 year-old female who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) is charged and released with possession of a controlled substance, section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). This young person will appear in court on January 22nd, 2004.

(Powassan, ON)
Powassan OPP is investigating a break and enter that occurred sometime between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 29th, 2003 at 744 Hemlock St., South Himsworth Township. Thieves entered the home and stole beer, assorted hand tools, a small T.V. set, a stereo component, an older model computer system including tower, monitor and keyboard, assorted CD’s and computer CD’s. The stolen property has a value of approximately $2,000.00.

Makes and models of the property are still being provided as police continue to investigate this matter.
