On February 6, 2017 at approximately 2 a.m. the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. program in the area of Highway 11 and Seymour Street in the City of North Bay

Impaired charges laid in three separate incidents

NORTH BAY – On Feb. 6, 2017 at approximately 2 a.m. the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere) program in the area of Highway 11 and Seymour Street in the City of North Bay. A vehicle was stopped and as a result a male party, Himanshukumar Patel, 35, of Sturgeon Falls was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario court of Justice on Feb. 21, 2017 in North Bay Ontario.

MATTAWA - On Feb. 6, 2017 at approximately 1:50 p.m. members of the North Bay OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E program on Dorion Road, at the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail number 101 when they stopped the operator of a motorized snow vehicle (MSV). The driver of the vehicle, Gregory Fluney, 38, of Barrie Ontario was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences.

• Driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC
• Driving while ability impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the CC
• Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA).

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario court of Justice on March 8, 2017 in Mattawa Ontario.

NORTH BAY – On Feb. 6, 2017 at approximately 11 p.m., the North Bay OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E program on Highway 17 East. A vehicle was stopped and as a result a male party, Christopher O’Neil 52, of North Bay was arrested and charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CC and driving while ability impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the CC.

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 21, 2017 in North Bay Ontario.
