Fatality on Highway 17
MATTAWA – On August 26, 2015, at approximately 9 p.m., Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, Papineau-Cameron Township.
Police investigation revealed that a vehicle was westbound on the highway when it collided with a moose. The driver, a 43-year-old male from North Bay, Ontario, was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the driver is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
A member of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team assisted with the investigation.
