Police clock speeder going 180 on Highway 11

OPP says it has ticketed a teenage woman they caught going 180 km/h in a posted 90km/h zone on Highway 11 near Temagami.

An officer from the Temiskaming Shores Detachment was conducting stationary radar patrol near Jessie Lake, Temagami on July 15, at approximately 10:30 a.m. as a southbound vehicle approached the officer's location.

The 18-year-old driver from Kirkland Lake was charged with "Stunt Driving - Excess Speed."

Police did not include her name in a news release. She has been released on a summons to attend court on October 1 in Haileybury.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver's licence has been suspended for seven days.
