Impaired charges On January 17, 2016, at approximately 4 a.m., North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a collision on Highway 63, near Redbridge. Good Samaritan stopped to assist a person whose vehicle was in the ditch on its side.

On January 17, 2016, at approximately 4 a.m., North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a collision on Highway 63, near Redbridge. 

Good Samaritan stopped to assist a person whose vehicle was in the ditch on its side. The unharmed driver was assisted out of the vehicle while a second person called police to report the collision.

Police attended the scene and, upon further investigation, the driver, Jean-Michel DELAQUIS, 34 years, of North Bay was charged with:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired-Motor Vehicle, section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);

  • Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, section 253(1)(b) CC

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 26, 2016.
