OPP stepping up enforcement on the by-pass

Through data analysis, the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has noted an increase of collisions involving injuries in the month of January on the Highway 11/17 North Bay corridor.

Over the next two weeks, members of the North Bay OPP will be focusing their efforts on reducing the number of personal injury collisions through enforcement and education. Officers will be on the lookout for behaviours that have been identified as the primary causes of the collisions including driving too fast for road conditions, distracted driving, tailgating, aggressive driving, speeding, disobeying traffic controls, and improper turns.

It is the responsibility of drivers to give their full attention to driving and to take their time in getting to their destinations.
