Male charged with assault following road rage

On October 29, 2015, at approximately 4 p.m., a member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Algonquin Avenue,  when he noticed two males fighting on Airport Road in the City of North Bay.

The officer stopped to investigate and was informed that the fight was the result of road rage. 

While the officer was trying to gain control of the situation, one of the males became combative towards police.

North Bay and District Ambulance Service attended the scene and transported one of the males to hospital with minor injuries.

A 39-year-old male from North Bay was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm, section 267(b) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Resist Peace Officer, section 129(a) CC.

He was released and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 23, 2015.
