LITTLE GHOSTS AND GOBLINS SOON TO APPEAR

(North Bay, ON)
Next Friday, thousands of children will take to the streets for Halloween Trick or Treat fun.
Lets make this annual event safe and fun by working together.

Parents children, and motorists, each have a role in ensuring every child returns safely to their home on Halloween.

Parents: escort younger children on their trick or treat route; know the route older children will take; choose costumes that won’t trip up, or catch, causing a child to fall; avoid masks; use reflective tape on a costume or have the child carry a flashlight; examine the goodies your child brings home, cut up the fruit; IF IN DOUBT, PITCH IT OUT!

Children: stay on walk-ways and on well lit paths; respect the property of others; do not go into a strangers home; save your treats until Mom or Dad has a chance to check them; LOOK before you walk across the road.

Motorists: be especially alert, reduce your speed; watch out for children stepping onto the roadway without looking; adjust your driving to suit the weather and road condition and ensure both headlights are on and working.
