NORTH BAY – A member of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar patrol on Highway 11, Municipality of Callander, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at approximately 9:10 p.m., when he observed a south bound vehicle travelling extremely fast. 

The officer stopped the vehicle and subsequently charged the driver, a 22-year-old female from North Bay, Ontario, with drive motor vehicle, perform stunt for speeding by more than 50 or more kilometers per hour, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The consequences for exceeding the speed limit by 50 kilometers per hour include a seven day driver’s licence suspension and vehicle impoundment, and the minimum fine is $2,000 upon conviction.
