Toronto police investigating fatal shooting, city's ninth homicide this year

TORONTO, Kan. — Toronto police say a 19-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday morning in what was the the ninth homicide for the city this year.

Police say they were called at around 12:40 a.m. about a shooting in the parking lot of a McDonald's in the city's north end.

They say they found the victim in a car suffering from gunshot wounds, and while police started life-saving measures, he died at the scene.

Police identified the victim as Malachi Elijah Bainbridge of Toronto.

They say two men were seen fleeing the area in a dark sedan.

Investigators are urging witnesses, or anyone who may have video surveillance or dashcam footage and was traveling on Keele St. between Ingram Drive and Hwy. 401 around that time, to contact them.
