Wilson, Dianne
(1945 – 2023)

It is with sadness and relief that we announce the passing of Dianne Wilson March 25, 2023 at Nipissing Serenity Hospice surrounded by family.

Dianne was the hub of our family wheel. She was the strength to husband Tom for 55 years. The loving and devoted mother of sons Tom (Lisa) of Barrie and Mike (Janice) of Holland Landing. Proud Granny of Michelle, Brad, Ella and Sean. Never missing an opportunity to support, encourage and enjoy their companionship and their adventures through sports, university life and part-time jobs.

Dianne was the sixth of seven children of Tom and Loretta Gallagher. Predeceased by her parents, brothers Mike (Donna), Tom and sister Laurine (Rollie). Survived by Mary-Lou Kunkle (late Ralph) of Halifax, Denis (Jackie) of North Bay and Frank (Suzanne) of Barrie.

Dianne spent many years as a court reporter in provincial and district courts.

After retirement she enjoyed curling, travel and well written mysteries, usually able to solve them early in the book or program.

She had a remarkable memory for faces and would be able to name people she hadn’t seen since high school.

Dianne was diagnosed with multiple cancers a year ago. In the course of her treatment she was helped by a fantastic group of professionals and volunteers. You are truly special people and we thank you. The “A-Team” of Dr. Abeysinghe was exemplary.

We would also like to thank friends, neighbours and “Souper” friends who shared words, prayers and support throughout the journey.

Friends may gather at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., on Tuesday March 28 th from 6 until 9 pm. Vigil service to be held at 8:45 pm.

Cremation has taken place, Dianne’s cremated remains will be interred at St Mary’s Cemetery in May.

In lieu of flowers donations to Nipissing Serenity Hospice or North Bay Regional Health Centre would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
