Passed away peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday February 6th, 2020  in her 89th year with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years Stan Townson. Loving mother to Ken (Nathalie) of Trout Creek, Cindy Findlay (Bob) of North Bay, Andy (Jo-Ann) Of Orillia, Ron (Wendy) of Peace River, Alberta. 

She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Tracy, Kyle, Chad, David, Andrew, Dayna, Cody, Eli and Benjamin.  Great grandmother to Emmerson, Tori Katlin, Liam, Logan, Elijah, Logan, Eva and Devin. 

She was also predeceased by her parents Milton & Valerie and by her brothers Harry & Jimmy Stewart.

June was born in Nipissing Junction in 1931 to a pioneer family. She excelled in her studies and went on to business college at the age of 13 yrs. She began working for Dominion Life at 14 years old. Through her hard work and determination, she aided the company in opening an office in Kingston, ON before her marriage to Stan in 1953. They built their home in North Bay at 151 C Riverbend Rd where they raised 4 children. June loved the outdoors, especially fishing & camping and was an avid golfer. She enjoyed volunteering in her community devoting many hours to the West Ferris Minor Hockey and the West Ferris Legion Women’s Auxiliary Branch 599. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for S.G. Townson & Sons and Trapper City Paving. In her later years June enjoyed going to the camp with Stan, watching hockey, baseball or golf on the television and found joy in observing the wildlife that surrounded her home.

The family would like to invite friends and family to stop by the West Ferris Legion Branch 599 on Saturday February 8th from 12 pm until 5 pm to celebrate June’s life.
