It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of John Gerald Topps Friday, May 21, 2004 in his 94th year. Gerald was predeceased by his wife Bertha Edna (Smith), his two sons Jack and Alvin Topps, and his daughter Anne Young. He is survived by his sons Glen (Brenda) of Kitchener, Terry (Norma) of Mississauga, his daughter Sharon (Chester) of Powassan, his son-in-law Bob Young of Powassan and his daughters-in-law Letty Topps of Powassan and Terry Redden Topps of Vancouver. Gerald was the loving grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Herb and Rachel Topps, his brother Cecil Topps and his sister Florence Sackrider. The family received visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan (705-724-2024) on Sunday. The funeral service will be conducted today, Monday, May 24th, 2004 at 11 a.m. by Reverend John Lockyer at the Paul Funeral Home Chapel. Interment Boxwell Cemetery, Chisholm. If desired, donations may be made in Gerald's memory to the Daffodil Terrace Lodge or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
