Anna Taillefer was born in Corbeil, Ontario, on November 10, 1933, and passed away on July 20th, 2021, at the age of 87, in North Bay, Ontario.

She was the daughter of the late Antoinette Boulerice and the late Gratien Taillefer and the wife of the late Charles Ferguson. She leaves in sorrow her step-children the late Jane, Jeffrey, Steven, Linda (Dixon Shaver) and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Also, her brothers and sisters: the late Maurice (the late Jeanne), George (the late Flora Giroux), Florida (the late Eddie Henri), the late Noé, Léo (Laurette Lamontagne), Alice Sister of the order of Soeurs du Sacré-Coeur, Donald (Denise Blondin), the late Irène and the late René (Diane Lamontagne) as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.

After completing her grade 10, she left her family to further her studies at Le pensionnat Notre-Dame de Lourdes in Sturgeon Falls, then went to teachers’ college in Ottawa, become a teacher and joined the congregation of Les Filles de la sagesse.  She was a devoted nun for 20 years and an accomplished teacher for 33 years, starting her career in Alberta then returning to spend many years teaching in Ottawa.  Anna was a very proud person who had a great love for her family, her God, her French language and her culture.  She was generous, liked to be of service, to read, pray, volunteer, sing and dance.  Once retired she took dance lessons and won several ballroom dancing competitions.  She liked a quiet life, and now, in the arms of Our Lord, she has found some of her loved ones and peace.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Barclay House, the North Bay Regional Health Center and the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in North Bay.

Due to Covid, a private mass was held at Église Sacré-Coeur de Jésus in Corbeil. A memorial graveside service will be held on September 27th at the Notre-Dame Cemetery in Ottawa, at 1:30 pm.  As per Covid directives, social distancing must be respected and masks are required.  In Memory of Anna, donations can be made to Développement et Paix or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in North Bay. Tributes may be sent to  www.racinerobertgauthier.com; 613-241-3680.
