Aneta was born in Okla, Saskatchewan. Her family moved to the Charlton area of northern Ontario in the early 1940’s. She attended high school at the High School of Commerce in Ottawa where she boarded with her dear sister Rebecca (Ruth) Licari and brother-in-law Angelo. In Ottawa she also worked at the Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator. After high school Aneta met her beloved John and they were married in 1955 in Englehart. In the early 1960’s Aneta and John moved to North Bay.
Everyone loved Aneta, our Mom. Mom was a kind, generous, warm, thoughtful and unselfish person who always put others before herself. She was a gracious lady who found her happiness in always thinking of others. Family and friends meant everything to her. Her hospitality towards friends and relatives outside the immediate family was such that they fondly thought of her as ‘their Mom” too. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother and was always excited to view new videos and photos of the grandkids. She also much enjoyed the furry friends that our family acquired, and the pets sensed her kindness and returned the affection.
Mom worked for 29 years at the Zeller’s store in West Ferris where she made many lifelong friends. Her friendly and pleasant personality while working at the front service desk or in the rear cash office resulted in her getting to know most of Zeller’s North Bay customers from young to senior.
She was an outstanding cook and baker known for her spaghetti and meatballs, cabbage rolls, perogies and shortbread cookies. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. Everything was made with love from her legendary dishcloths to her pineapple delight. Mom often had a new scarf or dishcloth in progress on her lap while watching her favourite TV programs such as a curling bonspiel, a golf tournament, an Ottawa Sens hockey game or CBS Sunday Morning.
Mom will be sadly missed but her loving spirit will never be forgotten.
The family wishes to thank the North Bay Regional Health Centre staff for the care that Mom received. Donations in her memory may be made to the North Bay and District Humane Society at http://www.northbayhumanesociety.ca/ or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice at https://nipissingserenityhospice.ca/.  A Celebration of Life service will be announced by the family at a later date due to pandemic restrictions. Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services.
