STOCKILL, Janet Emmeline

Mrs. Janet Stockill died suddenly on Thursday, November 6, 2003 in her 88th year at North Bay General Hospital. Janet (Purdon) was predeceased by her parents Janet (Duncan) and Thomas Purdon, her husband John Henry “Harry” Stockill, and her sons Tom, Larry, Gordon and daughters Marion and Gloria. She was the loving mother of Wes Stockill (Heather) of Powassan, Blake Stockill (Linda) of Powassan, Jean Thompson (Gordon) of Powassan, Barb Hughes (Roy) of Powassan, Joyce Byers (Norman) of Powassan, Fay Johnston (Dennis) of Powassan and June Trefry (Eric) of Nova Scotia and mother-in-law of Louise Stockill of Powassan. Beloved grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Janet was also pre-deceased by her sisters Ada Towns, Ha-zel Kerr, Alma Courvoisier and brothers John and Robert Purdon. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan (705-724-2024) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 11 am. Interment to follow at Powassan Union Cemetery.
