STENNING: Stella Mary

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother on Saturday, December 13, 2003. Mom (nee Hobbs) was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on December 24, 1923 and married her beloved husband of 30 years, Frederick Stenning (of North Bay) on March 12, 1949 and together they raised their three children Ernest, David and Judith. Stella was predeceased by her cherished parents Mary (Kemlo) and Herbert Hobbs (and a sister who tragically passed away in infancy) and her best and most trusted companion our father, Frederick. Besides her three children she is survived by their spouses Brenda, Shari and Bryan. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Vicki-Lynn, Brett, Scott and by her great granddaughter Leslie. Both her family and friends were all deeply touched by Stella’s unstinting generosity, her selfless habit of always putting the welfare of others ahead of her own, her loyalty and her fundamental goodness of spirit and heart. We remain awed and humbled by the tremendous grace and quiet dignity with which mother faced the relentless ravages of her prolonged disease. Much admired and truly missed. We all love you, sweetheart. Please be at peace at last. You will not be forgotten! A Memorial Service in memory of Stella was held today at the Laurier Avenue United Church. Spring interment at Terrace Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make Donations to a favoured Charity. Arrangements entrusted to the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across form City Hall)
