SMITH, Cleopha "Cody"

At Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, on Saturday, December 20.2003, after a long and-full life. She was in her 99th year. Loving mother of Paul Smith and his wife Mary Lou of North Bay. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Laura and Andrew Smith; Brenda, Barbara and Patrick Tighe; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence F. Smith; daughter Mary Tighe; parents Salome (Schnitzler) and Joseph Welter and brothers and sisters, Walter, Wilbert and Herbert Weiler, Edith Schlosser, Flora Mattes and Marcella Kroetsch. As a long-term member of St. Louis Parish and a 70-year member of the Catholic Women's League, she led an active spiritual life and held great belief in the power of prayer. Cody’s family and friends know that her many angels were a source of comfort in dispelling her fear of death. Cody will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for her good humour, her laughter and her love of life. Friends are invited to share their memories of Cody with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass to celebrate her life and faith will be held at St. Louis RC Church, Tuesday, December 23,2003 at 10 a.m. The parish prayer service will be held at the funeral home this evening at 8:45 p.m. Following the mass, friends and relatives are invited to St. Louis Parish Hall for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. The committal service will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo, Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. In memory of Cody, donations to the Carmel of St. Joseph would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home, telephone 519-745-8445 or www.edwardrgood.com
