Passed peacefully at home on December 19, 2018 while in his 70th year, with his daughter, Erica, and his former wife, Elsie by his side. Joe is survived by his loving daughter, Erica Skouras (Marc Bradley), and adoring grandchildren, Jaxon and Stella. He will be dearly missed by the mother of his children, best friend and former wife Elsie Johnson, and by his beloved sisters Florence Bertolo (Leo) and Isabelle Wilson (Bill). Joe was predeceased by his son Jason Skouras, whose passing in 2000 was his greatest heartache. Joe is also predeceased by sisters Alice Mann (late Edward), Anne Trembley (late Fern), Norma Sherlock (late Earnest), Jean Tauriainen (Karlos), and his brothers Bill (Madeleine), Alfred (Barbara), John (late Fernande) and David. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe will be remembered for his sense of humour, love of adventure, determination and general aptitude for many things. As per Joe's wishes, cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of life and memorial service will be held at the Rorab Shrine Club, 1260 Brookes St. North Bay on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm with a service beginning at 2:00 p.m. followed by a light reception. Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated by family. Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services.
