Dec 22,1941-May 18 2020

With heavy hearts Derek and Stephanie sadly announce the death of their dear father, the man they called their hero and best friend. Ben passed peacefully, and is at rest, after a rough couple of years. He conquered prostate cancer, but the treatments and side effects were hard on his already weakened heart.

Ben was the proud and loving father to his son Derek and his daughter Stephanie (Mallett). He also leaves three beautiful grandchildren, Taylor (Mallett), McKenzie (Mallett) and Gracie (Sinai).

Ben was past- president of the Kapuskasing Rotary Club and an avid outdoorsman who loved flying, hunting, fishing and everything outdoor related. Ben was a very respected Justice of the Peace serving Northern Ontario for more than 25 years. He was also a former member of the Kapukasing Police Force.

Ben was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Angela (Lisinski) as well as his older siblings Josie and Jim.

Ben leaves behind his siblings Ronnie (Anne-deceased), Leo, June (Leduc), Sally (Gerry-deceased) Boudreau, Walter (Nicole), John (Diane), Rob, Tim, Linda (Spike) Gagne, Susan (Paul) Blanchard. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the North Bay Hospital for their amazing care and an extra special shout-out to the amazing staff on C3 for the extra love and attention they gave him and for setting up the video chats with his family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place and internment of his ashes will take place at the Kapuskasing Cemetery at a later date, with a celebration of life to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the heart and stroke foundation would be appreciated.
