After a brave battle at the North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 69 years of age. Loving father of Cara Shamess of Richmond Hill, Former husband of Robin of Orleans, Ontario. Sadly missed by his sisters Elaine Scarr (Stanley) and Lynda Lindsay (Donald) both of Parry Sound and by his sister-in-law Frances of Mississauga. Predeceased by his parents Soloman and Annie Shamess and by his brother Albert. Survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Ed will be missed by many close friends. Edwin started teaching at Algonquin Composite School and spent most of his career teaching at West Ferris Secondary School. He was also active with the OSSTF. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church on Monday at 2 pm. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium (Tower Drive). A memorial service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church in Parry Sound at a later date. If desired, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the CNIB or St. John's Anglican Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
