Peacefully after a lengthy battle with heart disease, surrounded by his family, Mike passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the NBRHC, at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Diane Sauve (Agnew), father of Neil Sauve (Lindsay Withers) and Darryl Sauve (Stephanie Johnson) both of Ottawa and step father of Greg Cantin (Jennifer) of Sudbury and Heather Cantin (Johanness Gruber) of Vienna, Austria. Much loved Papa of Jordan and Carter Cantin. He is also survived by his sister Jacqueline Arsenault (late Don) of Sudbury, many nieces and nephews, and his furbaby Dixie. Mike was a 20 year employee of the City of North Bay, before becoming a national representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees until retirement.
At Mike's request, he has been cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at the North Bay Granite Club on Saturday, September 21st, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. Mike was never one for formal events, so please leave your ties at home and bring your happy memories. Due to a severe scent allergy, please refrain from using any scented products.
