It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our dear father. He passed away peacefully at Waters Edge Care Community surrounded by his family on Thursday September 22, 2016 at the age of 100 years. He is survived by his loving wife Lillian (nee Hiscock), his children; Diane Loyst (Dale), Chris Sarlo, Susan Tedesco (late Gino) (Terry Cangiano), Elizabeth Hayes (John) and Steve Sarlo. He will be sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren; Kari and Cynthia Loyst, Jamie and Stephen Tedesco, Daniel, Bryan and Laura Sarlo, Erin Hayes, Kelly and Andrew Sarlo as well as 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of John Sarlo (late Olga) and Florence Filipetti (late Len).Eddie will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; Antonio and Assunta Sarlo, infant daughter, Mary Frances, his brothers Albert (late Dora), Hugo (late Dora), Ernie (late Mickey) and his sister Eda Kovacevich (late John). Edward was born on August 25, 1916 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He made North Bay his home at age 17. He worked at the North Bay Nugget and Beatty Printing. He was an avid musician and played in several dance bands over a span of many years. He was inducted into the North Bay Musicians Hall of Recognition. He belonged to the Widdifield Lions Club, The Davedi Club and attended Bethel Gospel Chapel. Dad’s greatest love in life was his family and we will miss him and cherish his memory. Our family would like to thank all the staff at Waters Edge Care Community for their care and compassion shown to our family. Family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Tuesday September 27, 2016 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be conducted in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday September 28th, 2016 at 11 am. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice or a Charity of Choice would be gratefully appreciated by his family.
