Posted

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Tom Richmond, 88, after a brief battle with cancer. Tom will be sorely missed by Gladys, his life partner and loving wife of 60 years. He will live in the hearts of his children, son Derek (Zina) of St. Albert, Alberta, daughters Patricia (John) Osburn of North Bay and Alison (Gary) of Chestermere Lake, Alberta. He is lovingly remembered by his grandson, Nick (Kristina), William of North Bay, and Mike (Kerry) and Ken of Spruce Grove, Alberta. Before his death he was overjoyed to hear of the birth of his great-granddaughter, Lily Marie Osburn, born November 2, 2003 in North Bay. Tom is survived by his sister Lucy and predeceased by his brothers, Walter, George, William and Earnest and sister Agnes. Born in Liverpool, England, March 4, 1915, Tom fought bravely for his country as navigator in the Royal Air Force in both England and India during the second World War. In his later years he was made Serving Brother of the Order of St. John by Queen Elizabeth II. Tom will be remembered for his generosity, love of family and indomitable selfless spirit. Tom will be cremated in Comox, British Columbia at a service to celebrate and commemorate his rich and full life.
