Ricci, Anna
(10.14.1947-10.21.2019) - We are incredibly saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Anna Marie Ricci, who throughout out her 72 years of life in North Bay Ontario was an awesome mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, cousin and friend. She passed away peacefully on October 21, 2019 around 9A surrounded by her children, close family and friends and she was administered her Sacrament of the Sick by Father Francis from St. Peter’s Church and Father Rex of the Pro Cathedral Church and her dear friend Deacon Albert Falconi prayed for her multiple times over the last several weeks. Much like St. Jude, her favorite Patron Saint of desperate cases and lost souls, Anna’s open heart and generosity touched many lives, including four-legged friends from near and far.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Mary (née Spina) and Michael Ricci and 5 of 12 siblings (Shirley St. Germain, Benita Falconi, Joseph Ricci, Karon Ricci and Valentino Ricci) and many of her rescue dogs (Polar, Trooper, Keno, Bruno and Rico to name a few). Anna is survived by her children, Giuliana Lovrencec, Carlo Chiocchio (Jim Smith) and Dino Chiocchio (Jennifer Provost), her many grand-children, Roman (20) and Sofia Lovrencec (17) and Diego (12), Mikah (9), Summer (7) and Frankie (3) Chiocchio together with 7 siblings, Natalena Simpson, Georgina Ricci, Roger Ricci, Rudy Ricci, Romana Ricci, Vinny Ricci and Christine Fior and many cousins, nieces and nephews, including Jennifer Falconi and Joanne Falconi who were with her consistently in the last weeks of her life. Her beloved Vito (Bichon Frise mix) will miss her dearly though Anna is resting peacefully knowing that her dear friend Penny adopted him as her own.

Anna lived an amazing life devoted to her family and friends, cooking her award winning Gnocchi and other pastas for family and friends and those who passed through her father’s General Store by the ONR (Ontario Northland Railway), which Anna took over after his death after she reared and raised her three children. Anna is sorely missed already but her laughter, love and joy will leave a lasting impression on all those who knew and loved her and those with whom she touched.

Funeral Information: Anna’s viewing will be on Thursday October 24, 2019 from 7-9 pm followed by her service on Friday October 25, 2019 at 930 am with both events at Hillside Funeral Home located at 362 Airport Rd. Following the service, all are invited to the Davedi Club (313 Airport Rd., for an Italian reception. In the afternoon of October 25, 2019, there will be a private ceremony at St. Mary’s Cemetery (132 Golf Club Rd., North Bay) where Anna’s ashes will be laid to rest with her parents.
