Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on October 10, 2020 at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice at the age of 83.  Born in Wilno on March 24, 1937 to the late John and Rose (Burant) Recoskie. 

Mary is survived by her sister Agnes (late Isadore Lorbetskie). She is predeceased by her siblings Sylvestor (late Annie), Alphonse (late Isabel), infant brother Joseph and brother at heart Lorne Burant. Mary will be greatly missed by her friends, family members and her feline companions Jack & Jill. 

Mary was always known to have a zest for life and an adventurous spirit. She always offered her work up to the Lord, whether it was as a Felician Sister, teaching in the Northwest Territories, travelling, working with the Heritage Gardeners in North Bay or volunteering at Pet Save as a cat cuddler.  

Cremation has taken place. At Mary’s request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 299 Airport Road, North Bay on Saturday October 17, 2020 at 11:00 am. 

In accordance with current directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario in regard to COVID 19 the total number of attendees is limited and additional precautions are in place. Face masks are mandatory at the church and social distancing protocols must be respected. For more information please contact the funeral home. 

Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
