Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on July 22nd, 2021 surrounded by his family at the age of 82. Loving husband of Ruth (nee Chafe). Beloved father of Catherine Haycock (Rick Smith) of Brampton, Kevin (Christine) of Field and MaDonna (Gord Cole) of Abbottsford B.C. Poppy to Ernest Haycock of New Hamburg, Joshua and Tyler Haycock of Kitchener, Stephanie Reyce (Chris) of Petersburg, Melissa Jamieson (Scott) of St. Mary’s, Kyle Power of Kitchener, Alannah McNeil (Amit Narang) of Abbottsford B.C, Ashley (Paolo CarLucci) of Woodbridge, Chantal Simard of Kitchener and Michelle Smith of Barrie. Poppy of his great-grandchildren Abby and Mia Haycock, Avery and Preston Reyce, Ariana and Jackson Jamieson, Arie Narang, Amelia and Alessio CarLucci and Brodie Webber Smith. Survived by his brother Thomas (Joan) of Newfoundland, Edward (Beth) of Florida and David (Cynthia) of Florida. Predeceased by his sister Kathleen Coady and his newborn twin brother. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Dad was born a twin in St John’s Newfoundland in 1939 weighing 3lbs 6oz. He was the son of the late Thomas and Marjorie Power. Dad spent most of his life in Newfoundland until he and his wife Ruth married and they moved to Ontario to make a better life for their family. Dad was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished the time spent with them and loved making them laugh and smile. Some of his hobbies included fishing, singing, dancing, playing the accordion, puzzles and travelling with our mom Ruth. As per dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. He would like everyone to remember all the good times had with him before any of his suffering. Please continue to share memories of our father on the funeral home website or social media. Special thanks to Dr. Renny of Kitchener for all the care given to dad.
