POLLACK, Margaret Mildred (nee Cleaver)

Posted

Pollack, Margaret 1

1943–2021

Margaret passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, following a lengthy illness. She leaves behind her daughters, Theresa and Tracy (Lloyd); grandchildren, Elisabeth (Jake), Trisha (Chris), Phil (Katie), Matthew, and Kate (Neil); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Pippa, Gil, Rowyn, and Evie; her brother, Harvey, sister, Susan (John), and sisters-in-law Donna and Brenda; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She’ll be missed by good friends, Denise and Sylvia.

Predeceased by her father, Harvey Cleaver (1978); mother, Margaret (2020); brothers, Frank (2019) and Russell (2020); second husband, Roger (1980); and nephew, Andy (2020). She also missed her dog, Miss Muffy, very much.

The oldest daughter of Harvey and Margaret Cleaver, Margaret liked to keep people on their toes—from the bassinet and all through her life. She was quite the character. A graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing of Hamilton, she built a career as a Registered Nurse with postings in Hamilton, Niagara Falls, and Toronto, Ontario.

Margaret was an avid listener of CNIB books on tape, having lost her eyesight several years ago. She was a crafter of increasingly misshapen blankets, and loved to indulge in food and other, often-guilty pleasures.

Grandma and Grandpa Cleaver, if you were hoping for some quiet time in heaven after 42 years apart, get ready: Margaret’s on her way!

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Cassellholme or the CNIB would be appreciated.

Special thanks to the staff at Cassellholme in North Bay, Cardinal Retirement Residence in Hamilton, Dr. Tammy Packer, and Dr. Prins.
