Gayle Parks

With sorrow the family announces the peaceful passing of Gayle on Sunday January 23, 2022, at her residence with her loving husband Burton at her side, in her 77th year. Gayle lost her short battle with cancer. She was born on June 13th, 1945, in Timmins Ontario. Her career started with MCTV, doing PR and copy writing, at the Timmins and then Sudbury TV stations. She then began working at INCO, and was instrumental working on the Triangle (Inco’s newspaper). One of the highlights of her time while working with the triangle paper was being the first woman to ever climb the “Superstack” in Sudbury. In 1982 Gayle moved to North Bay taking a position with MAPO. In 1989 she began her career with the North Bay Court House as a court reporter where she did retire in 2010. For 31 years she was “Lady Gayle” to Burton Parks supporting and assisting in Masonry whether it was the Blue Lodge, Scottish Rite or with Shrinedom.
Gayle was predeceased by her parents Lou and Margaret Chevrette, her brother Grant, her father-in- law Merle Parks, nieces Alishia Parks, and Samantha Parks.
Gayle is survived by her mother-in-law Shirley Parks, brother-in-law Dale Parks (Jennifer), and her nephew Kevin Parks.
In keeping with Gayle’s wishes cremation will occur at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Spencer, his secretary Sandy, Dr. Hailey Moore, Dr. Nelson, the nurses from Care Partners, the Sudbury Cancer Care team including Dr. Fabio Luison, Dr. “G”, and Dr. Pearce, and a special thankyou to all the folks at Belanger Brownway Bus lines for their tremendous and continual support.
If desired, donations can be made to the North Bay Rorab Shrine Club or the North Bay Humane Society as expressions of sympathy and would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com.
