Our mom, our Nana, our Grandma and our GG, Lucie Owens (Bedard) has gone to be with Larry, her dance partner and love of her life on Thursday February 18th. They spent 65 wonderful years together and it just wasn’t fun without him. She leaves plentiful memories for her son John Owens (Carol) of North Bay and her daughter Helen Logan (Mark, deceased) of Belleville. She was devoted to her grandchildren, Meghan Ross (Chris) and Michael Owens (Kari), Ryan Logan (Dawn), Erin Huycke (Jim), and Anna Logan. She cherished being GG to Bennett and Eloise Ross, Andrew Owens, and Wyatt Huycke.  She was the last of the Bedard gang, predeceased by her parents, Joseph-Emile and Yvonne, her brother George, and her sisters, Pauline, Marie, Louise, Madeleine and Cecile.

Lucie grew up on Cassells St, but her favourite years were spent living at Bear Creek on Lake Nipissing. She loved the hard work of building their house there together, skiing the trails and boating in the “Lucie Luv”. They spent many winters traveling in Spain and Majorca. They made wonderful friends at Stonegate 1 when they decided to move into town, and at the Golden Age Centre, where they danced the night away every Saturday.  She takes with her the secret recipe for her world famous chocolate chip cookies, delicious turkey pie and the BEST knitted mittens and socks.

The past couple of years could have been more difficult, but thanks to the amazing staff of Barclay House, and the compassionate concern of the Eastholme staff, she was content and comfortable. We just cannot fully express our gratitude for your loving care and attentiveness. Due to Covid, a private family celebration will take place.
