2022-01-03 O'DONNELL Shirley
Shirley Mary O'Donnell (nee Barnhart), born on April 3, 1930, in North Bay, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, with her loving family by her side. Shirley, the beloved wife of the late Reginald O'Donnell is survived by her loving and cherished children: Kate Fewster (Rick), Sally Laframboise (late Gerry), Nancy Rantz, Dorothy O'Donnell, Shawn O'Donnell (Brenda), Shirley O'Donnell, Bill O'Donnell (Cindy). Proud and loving Nana of Khara (Mark), Kristopher, Kandi (Michael), Lisa, Pam, Andrea (Bojan), Julia (Ron), Alix, Alicia (Derek), Kevin (Katrina), Christie (Derek), Cory (Halina), Matt (Lindsay), Jenna, Errin, Megan (Justin), Kassandra (John), Jillian and Ryan. Shirley will be dearly missed by many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Patricia Barnhart and brother-in-law Clifford (Vonda) O'Donnell. Predeceased by her daughter Colleen O'Donnell, parents William and Dorothy Barnhart (nee Bailey), her brother Bucky Barnhart, brothers-in-law Joe, (late Joyce) Dan (late Joan), Wilf (late Lucille) O'Donnell, sisters-in-law Gert Crooks (Bill), Mary Sandrelli (late Carmen) and her lifelong friend Mary Schubert (Norman). Shirley was a devout parishioner of The Pro Cathedral of the Assumption and a member of the CWL. Mom loved the outdoors, cross country skiing, skating, jogging, and going for long walks in Tomiko. We all benefited from Mom’s love of music, and dance! How often was the kitchen her dance floor, the broom her partner. Mom danced “like no one was watching”. Mom got a lot of strength and comfort from her faith. Her love of family was priority and she taught us to take things in moderation, kindness, and humbleness and so many “Momisms”. In celebration of Shirley's life please join the family at McGuinty Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. Proof of double vaccination is required. As per current COVID-19 directives, the total number of attendees is limited, social distancing requirements must be respected, and masks or face coverings are required inside the funeral home. A private funeral celebration will be held. For a live stream of the service, please view McGuinty Funeral Home Limited on Facebook on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 11 am. As it has always been Shirley's mission to help those in need, in lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Alzheimer's Society, The Gathering Place, or a local charity of your choice would be appreciated. Words cannot express our heart-felt gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional care from the Pier One staff at Waters Edge Care Community.
