Moreau, Michel

It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Michel Joseph Moreau on March 10, 2021 at the age of 69.  He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Anna, son Philippe (Andrea), daughter Natalie (Jason), and grandchildren Hailey and Emily.  Also survived by his mother Theresa, brother Paul (Betty), sister Carole, brother-in-law Dario and much loved nieces and nephew.  Predeceased by his father Patrice and sister Patricia. Mike was a resident of Mattawa for almost 46 years.  He taught at F.J. McElligott Secondary School for 28 years (14 of those years he was a part time Justice of the Peace). After he retired from teaching, he became a full time JP for 14 more years.  He fully retired 5 years ago.  Mike had a great interest in the law and politics, and enjoyed many mornings at Mountainview Restaurant talking with the boys.  Another great interest was golfing.  He spent many years at the golf course, golfing and helping out.  Travelling was also a big part of his retirement.  We would like to thank HSNS, NBRHC, and Mattawa Hospital.  Special thanks go out to Dr. Wilkins and all the staff.  Our hospital is small but filled with a caring and compassionate staff that go above and beyond while caring for their patients.  Also, many thanks to those who supported us during this very difficult time.  To our gang, and everyone who shared a story, offered their prayers, dropped by food and provided comforting words.  We live in a kind, caring community and our family thanks everyone from the bottom of our hearts.  God Bless!!  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Mattawa Hospital would be greatly appreciated.  Due to Covid Restrictions a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to MARTYN FUNERAL HOME.
