MITCHELL, Nancy (nee Roberts)

Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on May 24, 2017, at the age of 82 years. Survived by her husband of 63 years Robert and her daughters Janet Knox (Jerry), Judy Gummo (Garth) and her grandchildren Julia Knox (Kyle), Cameron Gummo (Vanessa) and Candice Gummo (Lucas). Sister to Andrew Roberts (Edna) and sister in law to Betty Brigham, John Mitchell, and Eleanor Mitchell. Predeceased by her parents Yvonne and Andrew Roberts and sister in laws Marian Earl (Ike), Ann Montemurro (Richard), and brother in law Tom Mitchell. Nancy moved with her family to Halifax during war time, returning to Noranda, Quebec where she met Bob in 1953. Nancy was very involved with volunteer work with Calvin Presbyterian Church and Cassellholme. She enjoyed playing bridge and curling for many years. Nancy enjoyed her family, grandchildren and spending time with them at the cottages on Lake Talon. As per her wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private family internment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations to The Alzheimer’s Society or The North Bay Humane Society in memory of Nancy will be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services.
