It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonardo “Len” Miscio on April 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in his 85th year. Loving son of the late Antonio and Caterina (nee Vinelli) Miscio. Beloved husband of 53 years to Maria (nee Patrizio) Miscio. Loving father of Anthony Miscio (Luana), Salvatore Miscio (Darcy) and Catharine Celebre (Carlo). Cherished Nonno of Alessia, Livia, Mateo, Angelina, Domenic, Marco, Dante and Gianna. Loving brother of Maria Lavalle (Guido), Giovanni (predeceased) (Maria) Miscio and Michele Miscio (predeceased). He will be dearly missed by many special in-laws, nieces, nephews, close family and friends. Born in San Giovanni Rotondo, Foggia, Italia in 1936, Leonardo immigrated to Canada in 1953. He had a long and successful career at Boart Longyear that spanned over 40 years. He loved golfing, the outdoors, various sports and spending quality time with his cherished family. Leonardo also served with the Knights of Columbus (3rd degree) and was a proud parishioner of St. Rita’s Parish and the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption. He was also known for his devotion to San Padre Pio, who was instrumental to his faith journey. The family would like to thank Monsignor Dave Tramontini for his loving support. The family also sends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rotondo and the entire staff of B1 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their compassion and exceptional care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation or North Bay/Sudbury Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, the family has made the difficult decision to have private services but invite all to join them virtually on the McGuinty Funeral Home Limited Facebook Page on Friday April 30, 2021 at 11 am for the service. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
Leonardo will always be remembered for his love of life, dedication to his beloved family and for making the world a better place.
