La famille annonce avec grande tristesse le décès de Réjean Mercier le samedi 4 septembre, 2021 à la Maison Sérénité du Nipissing à l’âge de 69 ans entouré par sa famille. Époux bien aimé de Thérèse (née Morin) pendant 49 ans. Adoré par ses enfants Mario (Nathalie) et Julie (André) et ses petits-enfants Sébastien, Chanelle et Nicolas. Il est survécu par ses frères Maurice (feue Marielle) et Denis (Linda), son beau-frère Léonard ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux.
Il est prédécédé par ses parents ainsi que ses frères et sa sœur Marie, Rhéal et Roland.
Réjean était un entrepreneur général très connu dans la région de Timmins pendant plusieurs années travaillant pour la Cathédrale St-Antoine-de-Padoue, d’autres églises de même que le Diocèse Catholique de Timmins. Réjean adorait sa famille et passait le plus de temps possible avec eux. Il aimait faire de la chasse dans le nord de l’Ontario, faire des projets de menuiserie et faire des rénovations dans les maisons où il a demeuré avec Thérèse.
La famille aimerait remercier le personnel de la Maison Sérénité du Nipissing pour les soins exceptionnels donnés à Réjean.
La famille recevra les condoléances des membres de la famille et des ami(e)s à l’Église Transfiguration (316, 7e avenue, Cochrane) le samedi, 11 septembre 2021 à 10 heures. Le service funéraire aura lieu immédiatement après à l’église à 11 heures.

Afin de respecter les restrictions en vigueur dûes au COVID, le port du masque et la distanciation devront être respectés en tout temps et il y aura un nombre maximal de personnes qui sera permis lors des visites, le service funèbre et le dîner. Une invitation vous sera envoyée par Facebook afin de réserver votre place à l’église (maximum 75 personnes) ainsi qu’au dîner (maximum 55 personnes).

The family announces with heartfelt sorrow the passing of Réjean Mercier at the age of 69, on Saturday September 4th, 2021 at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice surrounded by his family. Loving husband of 49 years to Thérèse (née Morin). Dear father of Mario (Nathalie) and Julie (André). Adoring grandfather to Sébastien, Chanelle and Nicolas. He is also survived by his brothers Maurice (late Marielle), Denis (Linda), his brother-in-law Léonard as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and his siblings Marie, Rhéal and Roland.
Réjean was a well known and respected General Contractor in the Timmins area for many years, working for the St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral, other churches as well as the Roman Catholic Diocese of Timmins. Réjean loved spending as much time as possible with his family as he loved being in their company. He also enjoyed hunting in Northern Ontario, doing woodworking projects and working on home renovations in the homes where he and Thérèse lived.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in North Bay for the exceptional care and support given to Réjean.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (www.alzheimer.ca) or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice (www.nipissingserenityhospice.ca/donate/) would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Basic Cremation Services in North Bay 705-476-4444.
Respecting COVID restrictions, the wearing of masks, physical distancing and a maximum capacity of attendees will be in place during the visitations, the funeral service and the luncheon.
