Megginson, Gregory

Greg passed away Thursday May 19th, surrounded by his family at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, at the age of 61, after a short battle with cancer.

He was the loving husband of Tammy for 41 years. Father of Christopher and wife Sarah, Katelyn and husband Brad Chenette, and Curtis and wife Courtney.  Dearest grandfather to Theo, Isabelle, Jaida, Kylah, and Caylee-Ann.

Greg retired from the ONR after 35 years of service. When he wasn’t at work, Greg spent many hours at the rinks, following the boys to their hockey and tournaments, as well with Katelyn for her figure skating, and competitions.

Greg enjoyed fishing in his boat, “Off-Ice Retreat”, on Lake Nosbonsing, as well as his yearly men’s salmon fishing trips on Manitoulin Island.  When he wasn’t fishing, he was hunting or at the trailer around a fire with a drink in his hand, along side his best friend Barry.  Greg also enjoyed ski-dooing with family and his weekly men’s night.

Greg will be missed by his Mom Patricia, brother Danny and wife Cathy, brother Tim and family in Sault Ste. Marie. As well as all his friends at Birch Hill Campground.

The family would like to thank Dr. Senior and Dr. Jinnah for their kindness and support. The doctors and nurses at the Sudbury Cancer Centre. As well as, the nurses and PSWs at the Hospice, for their caring hearts and strength.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
