November 24, 1939 - January 18, 2022
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Audrey Mathieu, January 18, 2022 following a brief illness. Predeceased by her parents Ken and Winnifred Gardner. The beloved wife of Clayton for 60 years, Joan is also survived by her loving children Peter (Shelly), Shelli Hefkey, Patti Serson, and brother Grant Gardner (Beverley). Cherished grandmother of Jessica Delorme, Mathieu Hefkey, Scott Hefkey, Justin Mathieu, Amanda Serson and Aylana Serson, and great grandmother to six. She will be dearly missed by her cousin and lifelong “bestie” Freda Hamilton.
Thanks to Drs. Jinnah, Shulman and Hasspieler, the CCU and C3 Palliative Care staff, as well as the EMS and ER staff at NBRHC for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
As per Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service.
