MARTEL, Roland

Peacefully with members of the family by his side at the Mattawa Hospital, on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Roland was the beloved husband of Isabelle Fée (nee Boissonneault), he was 86 years old. Loving father of Mike and his wife Brenda & Raymond and his wife Cindy all of Mattawa. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jenée, Mathieu and great grandchildren Pearson and Isabella. Roland was survived by his sister Yvette and was predeceased by his parents Rémi & Anne Martel and by his siblings Norbert, René, Lauriat “Tiri”, Jean-Louis, Blanche, Hélèn and Alfeda. Roland was a well-respected business man in the Mattawa Area, operating his own Logging Company for many years. As an entrepreneur he started many businesses examples being the Bowling Alley, a Clothing Store and the Mattawa Golf & Ski Resort. A Christian Mass in the presence of ashes will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Parish, Mattawa, on Friday October 28th, at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes to follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
