It is with profound sadness that the family shares the news of Ed's death on Saturday, September 23rd.  Much loved husband of Kathy Underhill and beloved Dad of Dylan and Courtney Lessel, he was predeceased by his parents Arthur (Bud) and Alma, survived by his brother Phil, his sister Ginny, his stepmother Sally Rogers and many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In November 1995, Ed was given the priceless gift of a donated liver, and in the nearly 22 years since the transplant, recognizing how fleeting and fragile life is, he lived it to the fullest: camping at Marten River, family trips to the Maritimes, school graduations, fishing with Courtney, target shooting with Dylan, the long-standing tradition of listening to 'The Shepherd' on Christmas Eve, countless games of cribbage, reading/watching Harry Potter books and movies, he loved our many dogs and cats, he also loved driving his school bus, he loved cars and trucks, and the Minions made him laugh.
In keeping with Ed's wish, there will be no funeral.  The family asks that donations in memory of Ed be made to the Multi-Organ Transplant Unit or the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Toronto General Hospital.  We also encourage you to sign the Organ Donation portion of your Health Card.
