Bernice was born and raised in Widdifield, attended Algonquin Composite School and  worked alongside the love of her life, Isadore, at North Bay Garage prior to their wedding in 1953.  Bernice devoted her years as caregiver to their five children as well as several others she cared for during her life. Their door was always open! Bernice was an expert knitter having knit many baby outfits, children's novelty sweaters and her famous striped afghans for loved ones. She was also a great gardener who excelled in helping many plants and flowers to re-bloom or last forever. Bernice and Isadore were faithful parishioners of St.Rita's Parish, North Bay before its closure after which they attended St. Peter the Apostle Parish. She was a member of the CWL for over 50 years.
