LAVOIE, Helen (nee Szkotnicki)

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Lavoie at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on January 27, 2020, surrounded by her family. Loving mother of Ed Lavoie (Leanne), Bob Lavoie (Carolyn), Donna Corcoran (John) and Rick Lavoie (Marsha). Cherished grandma of Justen, Lisa, Jakob, Eric, Alexandria, Thomas, Tara, Ryan and Danica. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Irene Szkotnicki and her siblings; Jean Mackinnon, Walter Szkotnicki and William Szkotnicki (Jean). The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Paul Preston and Dr. Alison Halpert for their care and compassion and allowing Helen to proceed at her own terms. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
