LARIVIERE, Vernon Thomas

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Vernon Lariviere on November 28, 2019 at Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Centre at the age of 85 years. Dearly loved husband for 61 years to Marlene Lariviere (nee Foster). Loving father of Peter Lariviere (Jacqueline) and Anne Lahey (Dave). Cherished grandfather of Jason Lahey (Agata), Andrew and Amy Lariviere and great grandfather to Liam Marino, Julianna Souliere and Sophia and Olivia Lahey. Dear brother of Mary Vaillancourt (Richard). He will be sadly missed by brother-in-law Fred Foster (Mary), sister-in-law Audrey Pask and by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; Joseph and Laurenza Lariviere (nee Guertin), grandson David Lahey and his siblings; Richard Lariviere (Rose Myles), Raymond Lariviere (Diane), Muriel Pask (Don-deceased) and Suzanne Dalton (Bill-deceased). Vern was a long-time employee at the ONR for 38 years. Family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday December 6, 2019 from 7-9 pm and Saturday December 7, 2019 from 10 am- 11 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am and a Memorial Service at 12 pm. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by his family. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Graham, Dr. Woodward and staff at Nipissing Manor, Paramed Nurses and the staff at the Alzheimer’s Society for their care and compassion given to Vern and our family.
