(1959-2017) – It is with broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Monique Laferriere surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday November 6, 2017 at the age of 58 years. Happily married to Robert (Bob) Laferriere for 34 years. She will be sadly missed by her children Sylvie and Éric (Renée) of North Bay. Cherished Grand-Maman to Cameron, Brooklynn and Parker. Dear sister of Leon Vaillancourt (Gina) and Julie (Ron Major) from North Bay. Predeceased by her parents Marcel and Annette Vaillancourt (nee Nerbonne), and her siblings Florent Vaillancourt (Debbie- surviving) of Pembroke, Lucie Gravelle (Ed- surviving) and Daniel (Debbie Vaillancourt- surviving) from North Bay. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews and by her very close friends Louise Corbeil, Mona Verhelst-Dokis and Jackie Vezeau as well as many more.

Monique ran a childcare for over 30 years and touched the lives of many families. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and a very caring Grand-Maman to her 3 grandchildren. The family would like to extend a huge heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Mike Leckie, Sherry and the staff at the Near North Medical Clinic for their care and compassion shown to our family.

Family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday November 10th, 2017 from 2- 4 & 7- 9 pm. Memorial mass will be celebrated at Paroisse St. Vincent-de-Paul on Saturday November 11 at 11 am. Donations to Vision for Brooklynn would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
