KOTAN, John A.

Peacefully and with family by his side, at the North Bay Regional Health Center, on Friday July 7th, 2017, following several years of declining health, at the age of 86 years. For the past 60 years he has been the beloved husband of Joan (nee Laplante). The proud and loving father of Steve Kotan, and Keri McCarthy (Jeff Oliver), both of North Bay. He will be forever fondly remembered by his grandchildren Krista (Polly Desrosier) and Kelly McCarthy Jr., and Michelle and Anthony Kotan. A salesman and local business owner for most of his working life, John was an active member of the community. He will be remembered by many for his participation with Nipissing Lodge #420, AF & AM, and the Rorab Shrine Club. A gifted artist he has left many works to be treasured by his family. The Kotan family will receive friends at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, July 14th  from 11:00 a.m., until time for a memorial service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Masonic service to be held at11:00am.
