Mr. Jones died peacefully in New Liskeard on December 27, 2003 at the Temiskaming Hospital in his 99th year. He was predeceased by his wife Anne, daughter Bernice and son Donald and two brothers, Albert and Leonard. He is lovingly remembered by his sons Ken (Jean) of Haileybury, Allan (June) of North Bay and four grandchildren: Katie, Kenny, Nancy and Brian. Mr. Jones, a northern pioneer came to Canada shortly after his birth in England in 1905. As a young man he worked for the Nugget and ran the press the last day the paper was printed in Cobalt. Later he worked for the Ontario Northland Railway. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Cobalt, on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to attend.
