After a long and courageous battle, Leo Jobin died peacefully, at the home of his daughter in North Bay, on Sunday, June 13, 2021. He was 72 years old. He was the beloved father of Kim Boissonneault (Mike) of North Bay, Ken Jobin (Krystyna Hemstra) of Brechin, LeeAnn Jobin (Dane) of Calgary, and step-father of Denis and Kim Brownlee; grandfather of Jessica, Brandan, Samantha, Kayne, Ashley, Andrew, Amanda and the late Michel; and great-grandfather of Wesley, Beaumont, Tristan, Baileigh, Ronan, Madeleine, Paige, Chloe, Leland, River, Noah and the late Automn. Leo was the dear brother of Marie Girard (Denis) of Redbridge and Malvina Gelineau (Gerry) of Elliot Lake. He was predeceased by his siblings Joseph, Guy, Gilles, Lucien, Aurel, Rhea, Simone, Lea and Jeannine. He was a favourite uncle of numerous nieces and nephew. Leo was an active community man. He served on Chisholm Township Council for four years and as Mayor for 16. Leo also volunteered with many organizations during his time as mayor. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Leo’s life will take place Saturday, August 14, at his farm 1417 Maple Road, Chisholm from 2:00 pm until the bonfire dies out. A tribute service will take place at 3:00 pm. Bring your stories, instruments, chairs and adult beverages. Refreshments, music, games and children's activities will be provided. Should you wish, memorial donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice (nipissingserenityhospice.ca) or the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca) are suggested.
