HOLMES, William John North “Bill”

Peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 with family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital in his 80th year.  Best friend and loving husband of Theresa (nee Beaudet).  Proud father of Andrea Derby (Hugo Senechal), Jacqueline Holmes and Cherie Holmes.  Cherished Papa of Devin Derby, Erin and Ryan Chiasson and Jessica Ackland.  Brother-in-law of Charles Beaudet (Brenda), Donald Beaudet and Margaret Coleman (late Bob).  Bill will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his best friend Ron Simms.  A special thank you to his nurse Cindy, whom he considered family.  Bill joined the MNR in 1957 in Sault Ste. Marie, ON as a Forest Ranger, 1964 Conservation Officer, 1969 C.O. Coordinator, 1987 Fisheries Management Officer, 1989 Hatchery Manager from there he moved to North Bay and spent many years until he retired in 1992 as a Professional Angler Jig Maker.  At Bill’s request cremation has taken place and he has been laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.  There will be no funeral service to take place.  Memorial contributions to ARCH or Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.  (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E.
